We create a curated list of 9 Colleges based on the student’s strengths that meets you budget and their emotional, social, & academic needs.

We provide advice on visiting schools, which can be expensive and ineffective without thoughtful planning.

Most colleges today ask for a list of extra-curriculars from a prospective student.

We look at the purpose and requirements of the application and your child’s unique background and strengths to create a unique resume.


COLLEGE ESSAYS: What is your theme? What is your story?

We provide models and guide brainstorming activities to help discover a topic showing a student’s personality.

We advise on drafting and proofreading to create a polished essay.

GRADES 9 & 10

TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION & STRATEGIC COURSE PLAN

  • The high school transcript is the key document college admissions reads, yet most students don't understand

    1. what it is or 2. how it will be evaluated. Using the actual transcript, we show the student how they can make their transcript reflect their strengths!

  • Most students get tracked in math and science fields. Not fully understanding the prerequisites for future courses can hinder students as they progress through high school. We develop the course plan that sequences over 4 years. We also look at specific ways to balance "Rigor" with fun!

INTERESTS & APTITUDES ASSESSMENT

  • Through interviews, Do What You Are assessment, and a You Science aptitude assessment, we help students focus their energy on strengths, values, and interests that help to develop these areas. Based on this feedback, we start to make a plan of appropriate courses & activities.

  • Students begin organizing their activities in a spreadsheet that uses the Common Application activities criteria. By Spring of sophomore year, students begin creating their Individual resume that becomes a work in progress until submitted to colleges senior year.

INTERVIEW PREP (as needed)

  • Students encounter many different types of interviews, both formal and informal. We provide tips about preparing for an Interview, whether informational or evaluative. We then practice the conversation. Asking people about their jobs and careers can help students understand better the paths they need to take to reach their goals. We determining the "who, what, where, when and how" to do to this.

SUMMER PLAN

  • Summer is a great time to pursue interests, get a job, start a passion project, read books, or do some research. It's an Ideal opportunity to develop an interest and create a resume item. We put together a summer plan that they will actually execute.
